Bonjour!

NaNoWriMo word count is today: 23 576 words.

I like the idea of keeping a record on the blog of the quotes I love.  So, for the month of November, I will continue to share on Fridays an inspiring quote, something I find insightful, some wise words to think about.  You can find previous Words by others here.  If you would like to read more quotes I love, you can also stop by my Pinterest board: Quotes to live by.

After speaking with my best friend on the week-end, she told me the educators that were present on that day had different versions on who were the two children that were bickering.  There was definitely two children who were arguing according to this news article and the testimony of the educator but, at this stage, no one can confirm that one of these children was J.  I wanted to be fair and decided to publish this notice but I didn’t modify this post from its original version as there is a possibility that J was one of these children.  Either way, this story is a miracle for me considering the consequences could have been tragic.  The little girl who was gravely injured is on her way to recovery. (Rita Azar, 26 November 2013).

If you don’t believe in magic, destiny, God, the Universe or whatever else you’d like to call it, read this short true story and tell me what you think.

On Tuesday, November 12, J was at daycare.  J is a gorgeous little boy of 3 years old with a lot of personality.  That morning, when his mum brought him to the daycare, he had a tantrum.  But, she had to go to work and left him to the good care of his childhood educator.

In the afternoon, at about 2 pm, J lay down with 26 other children for an afternoon nap close to the large front window of the daycare centre.  It was just another usual day.

J and another boy started bickering with each other and the educator decided to withdraw them to another room because they were disturbing the other children.  And, for this reason, she also decided to move all the children further away from the front window of the daycare.

As she did so and minutes after she had moved the children, a car coming from the busy boulevard where the daycare centre is situated crashed into the front window.

Three children were injured and brought to the hospital.  The next day, two had left the hospital and the third one was still there but in a stable condition.  Thankfully, J and the other children were OK.

J is a little boy I adore; he’s the son of my best friend and the brother of Derek.

When I spoke to my friend and she told me the details of these events, I was in shock.  I can’t even think about what would have happened if J had stayed close to the front window.  It could have been a terrible tragedy if the educator hadn’t moved all the children.

Everyone knows stories like this one (read this post for example by Aroha over at Colours of Sunset), stories where we realise how much life is precious.  Some people can choose to believe that the unravelling of these events was just a coincidence but, I think it was a miracle.

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”

- Albert Einstein

Do you believe in miracles?

Do you have a story about miracles to share?  I’d love to read it.  Leave a comment or, I’m also looking for guest posts.

I took the information for writing this post by talking to my best friend and reading news articles.  This one, from Global news, is in English and there is also a video where you can see the daycare centre.  This one, from Le Journal de Montreal, is in French and the educator explains how the unraveling of that day was a succession of little miracles.
